The BAND Festival Venues

Venues

For such a small village, Dunfanaghy is a fast becoming a great music destination. One of the reasons for this is the variety and close proximity of some brilliant venues for music events.

The beautiful setting of the village, with Muckish Mountain as a backdrop and Sheephaven Bay in the foreground, makes Dunfanaghy as very special place. Combine this with a community which welcomes visitors with open arms, and a choice of excellent eating and watering places, and you have the perfect location for a music festival.

The BAND Festival will be hosted in the two local hotels, numerous pubs, coffee shops and the beautiful Church of Ireland church.

Arnolds Hotel & Cafe Arnou

Combining a genuine welcome, and an outstanding location right in the village, this family-owned hotel offers two great venues for the festival. Aisling and Ciaran are working hard with the festival organisers to ensure the best of sounds and ambience for their 2 venues, in the hotel bar, and more intimate Cafe Arnou.

The Shandon Hotel

The newly reopened Shandon Hotel is situated a few kilometres from Dunfanaghy overlooking the magnificant Marble Hill beach, but it is very much part of the Dunfanaghy Area community. It will host BAND events in their popular bar on the Friday evening and Sunday.

The Oyster Bar

A long established bar with a well deserved reputation for good live music right on the Main Street. Annie and her staff will make sure that you have all you need to enjoy the music without getting thirsty!

The Shibin Bar at the Oyster

This new addition to the Oyster Bar is the perfect venue for larger bands. With plenty of room to dance as well as a large outside space, the Shibin will be a popular venue all weekend. You will be able to enjoy and take part in some good ole country dancing on Saturday afternoon, when Ashlene and some of her dancers will be there for your entertainment.

Mollys Bar

During the festival, Mollys will be alive with music in their main bar area, where Jeffrey and Ordhan will be on hand serving the best of welcomes and beverages.

Patsy Dans Pub

Bringing beer, laughs and good times to Dunfanaghy for several generations, this famous traditional pub is at the heart of Dunfanaghys tradition for music. A cosy intimate venue, with a great pizza restaurant in its back garden, Patsy Dans will be the perfect place to enjoy music and a pint.

The Holy Trinity Church of Ireland Church.

The BAND Festival organisers are thrilled that the delightful Holy Trinity church, situated at the top of the village on the Horn Head Road, can be used for one of our events. This small distinguished church was built in 1874, and has great acoustics and a perfect ambience for an intimate music concert.

Muck & Muffins Coffee Shop

Situated in one of Dunfanaghys oldest buildings, an nineteenth century grain store, this well established coffee shops enjoys beautiful views over Sheephaven Bay to Horn Head. We are delighted that the coffee shop will extend its opening hours on the Saturday evening to host a BAND event.
